Dressed to the Nines

1969.... 9 automobile wrecks...9 lives and an Angel dressed to the nines. Unbelievable, but true. It must of been a death wish, preoccupation or bad Karma...How could anyone have 9 wrecks in one year and survive, Cats do, but me? My insurance company loved me and wanted to cancel me at the same time. They were convinced I either had a death wish or was just prone to accidents, but as time would prove I was just trying to meet my Angel.

I had just picked up my new Mercedes and was sitting on Rush St. waiting for the light to change, when suddenly there before my eyes, a gaggle of Nurses...Mama Mio... I always had an obsession with nurses, I'm jus' sayin. She stood out from the others like an Angel with a bright aura. She was dressed in white uniform with white stockings and had coal black hair so shimmering you could almost see your reflection. I couldn't take my eyes off her. Suddenly I heard a loud crash as my head hit the steering wheel. I must of pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake because I almost took out the telephone pole. My door opened and I sat there stunned, not so much from the wreck, but because she looked angelic as she asked "are you alright?" I said "Hi, I'm Tommy B. and I think I'm ok... my head hurts but I'm glad you're here and I'll really be ok if I can get your number and name so I can call you and let you treat me to a drink for causing this accident." She asked "How do you figure I caused your accident?" I said " Because I couldn't take my eyes off you and I'm going to need lots of TLC to make me feel better."...... Got the number, her name was Deyanira, my evenings filled up, my cooking talents surfaced and my love poured freely for this beautiful Angel. She was the perfect prescription for my good health. We made many great meals together and to this day I am head over hills when I'm in the company of a nurse... I just wish they still wore white uniforms and white stockings instead of the rag tag orderly looking uniforms they wear today.
